5th Anniversary of MLP:FiM

Well guys! We’ve made it. This weekend marks the 5th anniversary of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. What an absolutely wonderful milestone. Our fandom’s really came a long way in those years. The creativity among this community never fails to amaze me, with new artwork, music and more still created on a daily basis. What other fandom can get plushies out within a day of a new character appearing on the show, it’s really something to be proud of.

It’s easy for us bronies to forget how old MLP actually is. Last year was an incredible milestone for the entire franchise, thirty years. So i’d like to think, rather saying our fandom will last another five strong years, how about we go one more and say another thirty strong. Lets appreciate the old, the new and not yet here. There’s much to look forward to in the coming years, such as Season 6, the 4th Equestria Girls movie and of course the big 2017 movie.

How are we all celebrating? I know a lot of us will be at UK PonyCon, and I hope to see you all there. Those who aren’t, how about posting your most memorable moment of the fandom, or just simply watching some of your favourite episodes. Maybe give some of generation one a try?

Over the next year I’d like to see a come back of meet ups. They’ve dwindled in recent years in some locations and aren’t quite the same epic gatherings they were back in 2012 and 2013. I understand organisers move on, but it’s time others step up to the mark, for us as a community to come together and bring meet ups back to their former glory. Many do still exist, and with the wonderful conventions, such as BUCK, UK PonyCon, BronyScot and our friends over in mainland Europe it’s certainly proof that there’s a great willingness for bronies to gather. Remember you don’t need to wait for others to organise a meet, anyone can do it, thanks to communities like the UK of Equestria and groups over on Facebook, such as Bronies UK. There’s always willing people ready to help.

So yes, here’s to the wonderful minds behind Friendship is Magic and to everyone who has ever contributed to the MLP franchise these past thirty one years.

Thank you to everyone i’ve met over the last five years. You’ve all made it wonderful! I hope we have many more epic experiences to come. I look forward to it!
