Friendship Report: Nightmare!

Dear Readers,

I'd like to start off by saying that the title is only slightly misleading, and also gives way to a very anticlimactic post. Anyway, six days into the new year, one of my worst nightmares became reality. The sad part about this is that it truly has been a strange fear of mine for quite some time now, and it's finally happened.

So what is the fear that has just became a reality? Well, I ordered a bass guitar from Thomann in Germany, which arrived on Tuesday, but when I opened it, the bass was damaged, and needed replacing. I needed to return an item to another country. For some reason this prospect has been filling me with dread for almost three years, and now, I've actually got to do it.

Like a lot of fears, it's not a big deal when it comes to facing them. I'd like to note that I said fears not phobias, phobias are very different, and will take a lot to over come, so don't go around throwing tarantulas at you arachnophobic friends. I have to say, Thomann have been very nice to me with the whole process, although I would have much rather have ordered from a UK based store such as Andertons or GAK, solely because of the Next day delivery they offer, but unfortunately they don't sell Harley Benton products.

All that aside, the point I am trying to get across is that there will come a time when you have to face your fears. There will also be times when you have to face your phobias, which is quite a lot for me, the only problem with being deathly afraid of dogs, dogs are everywhere.

Fears aside entirely, I also went through one of the best feelings in life (at least, one of the best in my opinion), discovering a new band and listening to as many of their songs as the Youtube suggestions allow. I discovered a band called Electric Wizard recently, and I have been playing there songs pretty much non-stop, I've gone through quite a few songs by them, including a full album, and I haven't yet found a bad song.

So have you faced any fears or phobias recently? Have you found an awesome band/artist who you now can't stop listening to? Tell me in the comments below. and do try to enjoy yourself.
