Friendship Report: Time for the New Year!

Dear Readers,

I hope you all enjoyed whatever you may or may not have just celebrated. I was surprised to find that I did enjoy my Hearth's Warming for a change, I was also surprised to see the electric fireplace that has all the fancy lights to be turned on. But now it's time to looks towards the new year, which to most of us should be 2015, but for some cultures and religions that number will be different.

Friendship Report: Happy Hearth's Warming!

Dear Readers,

As most of you should be able to work out, this is the last post from me before Hearth's Warming. I also know that some of you may find it stupid that I'd prefer to say Hearth's Warming and not Christmas. The truth of the matter is that I don't think it's right to continue to call it Christmas if I'm not going to be celebrating the birth of Christ.

Friendship Report: Lego!

Dear Readers,

This week I finally got around to watching The Lego Movie, a film that was sadly dwarfed by Frozen when it came out in cinema. Anyway,I found this film to be so good, I had to watch it twice, first on Wednesday, and then just before posting this. Like many films aimed at a younger audience, it had an underlying message, one all of us bronies should know.

Friendship Report: Family and Bridges

Dear Readers,

As some of you may have guessed, I'm not exactly close to many members of my family. This has just started to strike me as odd, I don't know why it has taken so long, but I have finally realised that it is a bit odd. You might think otherwise, but for someone who gets along with pretty much all of his family, it is a bit strange for him to only be close to one member, especially since two others live in the house.

Friendship Report: Overload!

Dear Readers,

For me this week has been full of excitement, and it has really cheered me up after my dark epiphany during the weekend. So much has happened that it has pretty much overloaded my mind with anticipation, and various other similar emotions which I can't be bothered to name. Anyway, I'm going to start this off with the sadder side, before getting on to as much of the interesting stuff as I dare say, at this stage, it seems dangerous to say it all.

Friendship Report: Realisation and Ideas.

Dear Reader,

Yes it's that time of week again, that time when I realise I've not done anything productive and I haven't actually learned anything about friendship. It's also where I pick apart everything I have done so far this week and realise that maybe I have learned something. And now that I have quickly done so I have realised that I actually did learn something.

Friendship Report: Teaching and High Hopes

Dear Readers,

A lot of people tend to look upon teachers and think "Ugh. A Monkey could do their job." Or at least, that's how it is where I live. Anyway I've had my hands full with teaching guitar this week, and I've come to realise that when you are trying to teach, even the simplest thing gets on your nerves, and chances are when you get told off by your teachers for "Totes not doing anythin'" chances are you actually were doing something really infuriating.

Friendship Report: A Good First Impression

Dear Readers,

You should all know about the importance of making a good first impression on people. It's usually a good way to ensure that people are nice to you throughout your relationship with them. However, good first impressions can be quite hard for some of us, like myself, so here's my failure at making a good first impression.

Friendship Reports: Skins, Memories & Hallowe'en

Dear Readers,

As some of you may know, this week has been half term, at least it has been for some. As strange as it sounds, I don't actually like these little holiday's very much, they break my usual routine, and mean that I have to find something else to occupy my time with. Thus this has been a week almost completely void of excitement.

Friendship Report: Rainbow Rocks

Dear Readers,

Before I start I'd like to point out that this is not a review of Rainbow Rocks. That aside, I did watch, and enjoy, the film. Anyway I have had a fairly interesting week, which involved me and my college friends spending the majority of our college time wandering aimlessly around Hanley city center. I even received an unexpected message, from the person I least expected to message me.

Friendship Report: Confidence, my College Friends, and the Black Leather Coat

Dear Readers,

For the last two weeks I've been feeling rather down, which is why I haven't posted for the last two weeks. I've been feeling sad because I've lost a friend, as I posted about awhile ago, and since then, I've also found out the "real reason" as to why she no longer wants to communicate with me in any way. On the upside, I've now bounced back!

Sonic Rainboom DVD now in Stores! + Contest

So the awesome guys over at Primal Screen, the UK DVD distributors, are releasing some new My Little Pony DVDs and have kindly offered to send us some to give away as prizes!
You should be seeing their DVDs popping up all about the place over the next few weeks. The new one is "Sonic Rainboom" which comes with a total of ten episodes on two disks with over 220 minutes of pony goodness. They're available now in many different retailers and online.

Now, a contest is not a contest without a brilliantly brainstormed task for you guys to do.

But, I think we'll keep it rather simple! We'll have to do a massive give-away one day, I promise, maybe include an extra horse.

If you want a chance to win one of three 10 episode DVDs simply send in a picture of some of your merch (such as a blind bag pony!) in either a hilarious situation or outside somewhere awesome.
You can have multiple entries but you can only win one of the three DVDs!

Email your entries to rothstein@bronies.org.uk or hit me a PM over on the UKoE.

PS: Extra Points if your pic is Halloween related since it's that time of the year!

Deadline for the contest is 31st October!

Friendship Report: Good Bye Dear Friend

Dear Readers,

If you haven't guessed from the title, I lost a friend this week. Don't worry she hasn't died or anything, we just had what was apparently a major fallout. Either way, I'm classing it as she no longer wants to speak to me or hear from me, which is a shame since she was my biggest fan. So now I shall blast you with a few metaphorical analogies, which should hopefully provide you with at least some good advice.

Call of the Cutie Conference

MLP Conference Funded by Brighton University

A report by Hayley Berry

Despite the immediate feelings of shock, dismay and negativity it sparked amongst campaign group members as a result of its actions, Brighton university stood proud earlier this year, when staff there admitted spending funding received from the public on a conference, dedicated to the open discussion and research of the show, 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'.
In total, it was found that £400 money originally from the public went towards the event, causing questions to be asked among those in disapproval of the show's 30-year history being discussed in a number of in-depth talks throughout the nine hour event.

Profits made to the university itself after the event came to a disappointing £16, from the 14 attendees who each paid a £30 fee, to listen to and take part in conversations involving such topics as the show's history, the many mythological stories surrounding it and even the merchandise itself, namely how it links to such artistic expressions as photography and poem writing.

A quote from a university spokesman interviewed regarding the conference states the university's main priorities and commitments lie within "a broad portfolio of applied research that often had low profile, but had high public benefits". This also comes as a direct reply to those who believe the study of what are essentially being seen as "children's toys" was in the end really worth the sheer amount spent, for such little profit in return.

For the spokesman in question at least, the answer seems to be that it is. He was said to have made the point that, in spite of all controversy surrounding the university's spending choices, they still continue to be a highly ranked UK university, proudly supporting almost 7,000 various different jobs in a number of sectors.
They also make a yearly contribution of £700 million pounds to the South East Economy.

With all this in mind, whether or not the university funding the conference was justified, is something I will leave your pony fanatic selves to ponder and maybe come up with your own decision....

Friendship Report: Another Bout of Inspiration

Dear Readers,

This week I have actually learned quite a few things about friendship, unfortunately, I'm not going to talk about the majority of them, until further notice. So I'm going to actually talk about something that happened earlier today, but I'll start it with something that happened on Wednesday, when I made a new friend.

Friendship Report: Decisions

Dear Readers,

We have all come to those times when we need to make a decision, but we just don't know which thing we should chose to do. That may have been something serious, or it may have been something trivial. Either way we all are constantly bashed with the need to decide on something, even things that we shouldn't have to decide on. So let's talk about the sacred art of decision making.

Friendship Report: The Rally & College

Dear Readers,

If you didn't notice, I didn't post a Friendship report last week because I was at Another Piggin' Rally which is a bike rally run by The Greedy Pigs M.C.C. I was there to help out more than anything else, but I still had a lot of fun and even made a few friends. I'm also posting this a little late because I've just started college and my mental schedule hasn't sorted itself out yet.

Frienship Report: Inspiration & Idols

Dear Reader,

This week I've learned a little something about inspiration and the people we idolise. Of course I don't know who you idolise, I only really know who I do, and more than anything I look up to my oldest brother Chaz for inspiration, who conveniently looks to me for the exact same thing.

Friendship Report: Rock 'n' Roll!

Dear Readers,

Yesterday me and my mate Nath were called posers by two girls who think we're not real rockers. It didn't bother me, but I had to hold Nath back before he turned at least one of them into spaghetti sauce (you know, the lumpy kind). It probably didn't bother me on the sole basis that I didn't think they were real prostitutes, despite their attire. Anyway this post isn't about me getting insulted by two idiot teens, it's about stereotypes in general.

Celebrities in the Brony Fandom.

An article on the many ways, the lives of those in the spotlight are affected by the magic of friendship...

By Hayley Berry

"Celebrity" - what's first thing to come to mind when you hear that word?
Whatever the case may be and wherever you may stand when it comes to your view on the rich and famous, I can bet one thing's for sure - the last thing that comes to mind is their possible interest (or lack thereof) in the candy coloured pony fandom we've all grown to know and love.

For a number of pony lovers, without true, legitimate confirmation from the person themselves, there is no real way of telling whether an idol of theirs really does enjoy the show, as sometimes there can be misunderstandings surrounding a famous person's likelihood of being a part of the fandom. An example of this is Deadmau5 was suspected of being a Brony, when we was seen wearing a Fluttershy depicting shirt to a concert he was playing in island. This caused him to have to later explain to misled fans that he is not, in fact, a Brony.

The important, integral life lessons each of us learns from the day-to-day activities of our pony friends are all around us. To me, one of the most memorable and key things that we can take from them, is that the people who can take these lessons and apply them to their everyday lives, are not just those of us who consider ourselves the "regular" MLP fans but those we look up to as well. To me, upon announcing their love of the show we all have placed our hopes and hearts into, the people who give us the joy and happiness their chosen career field brings, be it music, film-making, writing etc. should only be seen as more of an asset to the way we choose to live, than they were before taking the big step of letting the world see this whole new side of them. It takes a huge bout of confidence and respect for the fandom, for anyone to feel ready to openly admit being a Brony/Pegasister to the world. The main reason for this being the risk of abuse, bullying and sometimes even neglect from those closest to us, as well as from people we've never met (and probably never will). So for a famous person to declare themselves as one of us must take an even greater amount leap of faith, for which my level of respect for such people is very high.

To conclude, my personal opinion on what we can all take away from the interconnecting worlds of celebrity and non-celebrity Bronies/Pegasisters, is that no matter what our personal status in the world may be, acceptance and tolerance of each and every one of us in the fandom is key to its happiness. Just because somepony may be under pressure to please those they are working for, because they're out there in the spotlight and need to make an impression, doesn't necessarily mean they should become a robot, so to speak and as such keep their love of something that may get them mocked or worse, abandoned by their fans or close ones to themselves. This is something we need to show the ones we look up to. Whether or not we are a fan of any particular famous pony fan out there, I believe we should conduct ourselves in such a way that lets them know they have no reason to be afraid of admitting what they like to the world, to anyone. After all, isn't that what kick-started their careers in the first place...?

There are a whole host of possible answers to this question.
For some, it is a title that shows status, poise and talent in the person's particular field or chosen pathway in life. For others, it is simply a label, placed upon a person to make them seem more "important" or "higher up" in life than the non-famous amongst us in this world.
Personally, my view on the term depends entirely on the person it's being used to describe. Are they somebody who has worked their way up from the bottom to be where they are, seen hard times and struggled through them best they could, with little to no help along the way?
Or are they somebody who happens to be lucky enough to be physically related to such a person, the results of which usually take the form of said relation being used as what most would call a tool, a tool to be used as a quick fix in the lands of celebrity stardom. Something a person feels no shame in using to get them where they want to be much more quickly.

What would you do, if you were to one day find out your idol was a Brony or Pegasister? Would it change the way you viewed them as a person, or would you simply not mind and carry on your life as normal?
There are a number of factors that could influence where you'd go from the point of finding out; who exactly is said idol, is being a Brony/Pegasister something you'd long suspected of them, or a complete surprise?
Should the latter be the situation, do you think you'd be able to handle it or would you be a little disappointed that the Brony family you've come to love after all these years is expanding so quickly? Would you see it as almost like your child, something you as the "parent" has held close to your heart for so long, but must now set free so that others may also experience the magic for themselves?

There were a number of fans who saw this news as disappointing to hear, but accepted it nonetheless.
Alongside these misunderstandings, however, there are also happier times when the famous are happy to openly accept and admit their love for the show, sharing it with the world without a care for what people may think.
A celebrity who fits nicely into this category is Anthony Bourdain, who once clearly stated that he is happy to sit and watch the show with his daughter.

Everypony doesn't have to agree with or even begin to like a person for their interest in our fandom, but respecting them and as such treating them as both an individual, and as a part of our family will be the first step towards changing the way we are seen in the public eye in general - if celebrities in the Brony fandom can one day be accepted, perhaps us non-celeb's will be too...

Friendship Report: The Bad Week

Dear Readers,

This week I have learned that our own emotions reflect upon our friends' emotions. In this instance I have had a fairly bad week,  and I'm not the only one. Of course I was sad and down for a different reason than my good friend Ash, who joined me in this bad week, but it didn't take long for our emotions to reflect upon Nath and Zaina.

Friendship Report: Street Cred & the New Look

Dear Readers,

This week my good friend Ash learned a valuable lesson in friendship, in fact he learned two. Firstly he learned that he can't really choose his friends, sometimes they choose you. He also learned that it doesn't matter if hanging around with one friend ruins your "Street Cred" or whatever you prefer to call it, a friend is a friend no matter what.

Heyoo!

Heyoo! After reading through George's article where he introduces himself, tells his story of how he came to be the brony writer we know and love, I have to say I was touched. It was some deep stuff. It also inspired me to write my own little thing.
So here's my own introduction! It won't be a weekly thing like he has planned, but I feel as though I should tell my own story too.

First Peak at Season 5 Shown at SDCC!

Here it is, the part of SDCC we've all been waiting for (although I guess that'd be the queuing!), the first sneak peak at Season 5. Unlike last years which had a few clips of the animatics from various different Season 4 scenes, this year we have a full animatic section of what is likely the Season 5 opening episode. For the video and a bit of a closer look into the clip join us after the break.

Brohoof!

As you may remember, Bronies UK decided to add a few new authors to the blog, I am one of the four new authors. I did do a post last Friday about a brony in need, but I have to say that I don't really keep up with the My Little Pony news. So I'm going to do something slightly different, a pony column. So here's a nice introductory post to what I'm hoping will be a successful weekly column about the magic of friendship.

Voting Opens for Question at SDCC MLP Panel!

For the last few days the MLP Official Social Media pages have been collecting questions to be asked at the staff panel happening at SDCC this weekend. The following show staff we be appearing on that panel: Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Jayson Thessien, Daniel Ingram and Meghan McCarthy. Though i'm sure they'll be answering a ton of questions from fans attending SDCC, only one will be chosen too be asked out of those suggested on the social media sites. Currently they're holding a vote to see which question out of four will be the one we choose to ask.

So go ahead and vote over on the Official MLP Facebook page. I'm going with B, because Discord and Celestia is clearly the OTP!

Meghan McCarthy Teases Season 5! Feels Incoming!

Oh boy! Oh boy! 2015 can't come soon enough but Meghan McCarthy is already teasing us with some Season 5 info. I'm pretty sure we're all excited to see how Amy Keating Rogers is gonna touch our hearts again with this one. If her past episodes are anything to go by, we could be seeing some sad Pinkie. Awww.
What feels-y episodes do you guys want to see next season?

Ponyfinder: Griffons of Everglow Pre-orders now Available for the next two weeks

Greetings Pony fans, it is I Kingofturves, here to bring off the wall news articles for all you fellow Bronies across the UK. So to start off I'm gonna talk about Griffons. "Griffons?" I hear you say, "What about Ponies! Where are the Ponies! Give me more Ponies!" Well patience my good friends and sit around around as I recount the news about Silver Games' latest successful Kickstarter project to be used in conjunction with their 'mane' role play gaming system; Ponyfinder.

BUCK/Mareplay Sponsorship Keyring Design Released!

Any of you guys getting the 20% cooler or even the Celestia tier tickets for BUCK next month? Well they've just posted the design for their keyrings that will be given to all holders of those ticket tiers. The keyring shows their logo but with the manticore replaced with Mareplay's OC, since these are sponsorship keyrings after all. Britty and Star Streamer are looking adorable!

These are exclusive by the way, so you'll only be able to grab one if you buy one of those ticket tiers, sadly they won't be available to purchase at the convention.

Fundraiser for a Brony in Need!

A brony named Samuel Curd is in need of some assistance. As it turns out his brother has been diagnosed with cancer and is now trapped in Australia wanting to come back home to England.

This is where we come in, on Sunday the 20th of July he is doing a twelve-hour live stream in order to raise the money required to bring his brother home. He isn't asking for much, he only needs £650 ($1000 US) and will be accepting donations via Paypal.

Finally a Discord Toy! Sadly no Brushable Beard Action!

Sadly it's not a brushable. Come on, be honest you all would love to brush Discord's beard with one of the little brushes you get with the toys.

Funko are releasing a vinyl Discord figure. For anyone who's ever had their hooves on a vinyl figure they should know how amazing their quality is and how show-accurate they are. Obviously though never look under Twilight's Hair, there's just some secrets you never want to find out about. I know you can also get little Discords in the vinyl blind bags, but this is the first decent sized model to hit the high streets, or at least Hot Topic. I still can't get over how there isn't a Hot Topic in Manhattan, the closet is in Queens.

HUB to Marathon Pony in August

The Hub will be running a massive pony marathon on the 4th August, lasting for god-knows how long. Every single episode will be aired, which is now 91 episodes. This is just another reason why the Hub should come to the UK, however that'd be I'd need to get Sky TV again and I honestly can't watch another episode of Two and a Half Men ever again.

Instead, lets have our own marathon. If any of you guys attended Jingle's Marathon meet back when we only had 52 episodes to get though you'll know how crazy it's gonna be to watch all 91. But  it's certainly going to be worth it. Also watch Equestrian Girls while you're at it, and a few episodes of Johnny Bravo for the sake of it.

This is going to a great opportunity to see really how far we've came these past few years and of course is the perfect excuse to catch some episodes which you might have previously overlooked and forgot about.

Well we know you’ve all been waiting for it! Now announcing the most anticipated event at BronyScot, Rock Nessie! Taking place on the evening of the Saturday, the main hall of the Hilton will transform into a lively party where for the next couple of hours a fantastic selection of musicians from the fandom will perform.

Rock Nessie is the perfect place to let down your hair and celebrate all what it means to be brony to the beat of great music.

Author Application

At it's core this blog has always been a hobby to me, since you know at the end of the day that's what the fandom is all about. A fantastic and interesting way to pass the time and in many cases a creative or productive outlet of sorts.

But I do feel it a shame that this blog hasn't lived up to it's potential. With the amount of hits we get on an active month (heck even an inactive month gets decent hits!) it doesn't feel right not letting the blog grow a little more. This is why I've finally decided to open up Author Applications!

If you enjoy writing, journalism, interviewing, ect ect and are UK based this might be of interest to you. Don't worry if you don't have any past experience, we'll be looking for interesting and diverse personalities, not just those who have experience writing for a blog.

Only requirements are: You are UK based (or at least heavily interested or involved with the UK brony scene!) and that you have a decent level of grammar and spelling ability.

Just fill out one my infamous Google Forms below and we'll be in touch!

You can also chat to me straight on Skype if you'd prefer. You can find me at "fryjak" without quotes.

Crystal Fair Convention Taking Place This Weekend!

It seems surreal that it was over two years ago when the awesome guys at Crystal Fair in Finland first got in touch with me about their convention. They were probably some of the first people to contact me in some kind of official way, with a press release and all. Not only was their convention just starting, but it sort of made for a key moment in Bronies UK's history. I'll try and not get too sentimental, heh.

As it happens, Crystal Fair will be happening this weekend and it's set to be a blast! Hope everyone who's going, including anyone from the UK has a fantastic time there. I'm sad I couldn't make it this year, but I look forward to everyone's reviews when they get back.

Sadly i've not been posting as frequently as i'd like to for the last few months, i'll work on it! But that does mean there's a few press releases I missed that were emailed to me. Some of those aren't relevant now but i'll get the important bits posted up after the break.

PonyCons Application hits the App Store!

Wah! I'm pretty impressed here. Wasn't expecting this tonight! So a few guys over on the twitter have made a damn nifty iOS application that lists ALL pony conventions in the world, past and upcoming. It has links to all of their websites and social media and even gives you the ability to check by show guests and see what cons they have previously gone to and will be going to next!

This is some great stuff. I'd highly recommend checking it out just for the sheer interest of it. Seeing the little pins on the world map showing each con is pretty special.

MarePlay UK 24 Hour Livestream Fundraiser!

Everyone's favourite pony retailer, Mareplay UK is hosting a live stream event this Saturday at 12 mid-day until 12 mid-day Sunday. That's a whopping 24 hours of live stream.

The live stream is to help Mareplay's founder, Bunny to raise money for a van. Which is not only a big dream of his but also will benefit his business greatly, since he'll be able to get around to even more events with all the pony goodness. Mareplay will truly be the traveling Pony Sales place of the UK!

The event will obviously be all about gaming, there'll be a ton of viewer participation wherever possible and a ton of chances to grab some freebies, which you'll have to watch the stream to find out more about!

Also, embedded after the break! But you're best off watching it straight from his channel!

Poll Results: Best Princess?

Looks like the usual contender has won the Best Princess poll. It's no surprise anyway, with how dark and edgy everyone is. Sadly poor little Cadance has lost, seriously though guys she had the best singing voice in the Season 4 finale, not Luna, surely that has to amount to something!

Though it is funny how close Celestia came, she's not too far behind Luna. I bet Twilight would come a lot higher on the best Mane6 poll, guessing she's not quite ready yet to be crowned "Best Princess".

Season 4 Comes to an End, and What a Fantastic Season it's Been!

Season 4 has been incredible, it truly has been the best Season so far. It's an odd feeling really, as it's been somewhat different than Season 2, back during the height of the fandom and where everything felt fresh and new. We've definitely settled into things now, but I do think Season 4 has brought the hype back to many people. I saw myself at the Manechester Finale Showing last Saturday not wearing a brony shirt nor sporting any merchandise. But by the end of the night I was regretting not doing and I know for a fact next time i'm at a brony meet i'll gladly be 'bronying' it up as best I can.

I've been pretty damn busy over at BronyScot since for past few months have been really critical in terms of planning with getting tickets on sale yesterday and all sorts of other stuff. We'll be welcoming our volunteer team later this week, which is great news. Even though the next few months are probably going to be even more hectic i'll be making sure I post other stuff here more often, I already have a few articles in draft I need to finish up, though they'll need updating now Twilight's Kingdom has aired.

There should be plenty to come from this site over the next few months. The hiatus before Season 5 will not be as boring as you might think, with Equestria Girls 2 and all the awesome conventions happening this summer. I'm considering extending this site and looking for more authors in the next few months, i'm unsure how I am going to go about doing this but if you think you'd be interested be sure to get in touch.

Yes, I had to make Super Smash Bros. reference there, it was the will of Sakurai.

BronyScot are pleased to announce they are now officially sponsored by Mareplay UK, the largest UK retailer of My Little Pony Merchandise! Be sure to check out their stall in the vendor hall. They'll also be hosting a raffle of epic proportions during the convention where a ton of great prizes will be up for grabs.

SteedHunters: Bronies That Like Cars.

Apparently some Bronies like cars, who knew? So there's this new blog here called Steedhunters, go check it out. The guy behind it, if you've ever attended a Manechester meet should have already guessed, is Shaunnnnnnnnn (sure there's an ever changing amount of N's in his usernames). He'll be doing a bit of a brony car fan meet over at the upcoming Silverstone round of the World Endurance Championship.

Seriously though, driving tests are awful, I once did one without any sleep and I didn't even crash once. Though I drove too close to a bus evidently. My best advice would be to have a hearty breakfast before you go, because energy drinks and microwaved bacon isn't your best bet.

Bronies The Extremely Unexpected Review: Part 1

For some reason I had never previously seen the documentary, aptly named Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony. I remember back before the first BUCK in 2012 hearing about John De Lancie's fondness of our community. It was pretty uplifting that such a notable actor had really expressed his interest in something as seemly obscure as male fans of My Little Pony. This was when he went on to quickly announce that he was working with a brony owned film company to create a Documentary all about our 'little' subculture. The response was ecstatic in the US,  but interest didn't really come to the UK until De Lancie announced he was intending to come to our first ever Brony Convention, BUCK. The Kickstarter donation drive shot through the roof with UK bronies eager to get the Draconequus' VA to make an appearance. Sadly he couldn't make it but he did nicely leave us a lovely video message and of course, the film crew still managed to come and get some cracking footage of BUCK.

Jan Animations Receives C&D

It is a massive shame to hear about Jan Animations receiving a C&D from Hasbro's underground and shady law makers. But as we all expected, it was bound to happen. Let's hope the team has had a plan for this up their sleeve for because it'd be a complete waste of talent to see them stop. Maybe it means a different art style? Change Button into a Ferret? Yeah I think that's the best idea there is. My Little Ferret sounds like the best dodge of IP infringement.

Obviously Hasbro was well in their right to do this, but lets hope something can be worked out among them. I remember seeing Jan over at Galacon last year where their premiered Button's Adventure. Was a great experience, very glad I got the chance to have it before it was too late.

Maud Pie Does Not Like Gummy's Shenanigans!

You guys remember a few weeks back when Weird Al visited Ponyville?  Well not only did he have all the bronies singing along to his Polkas (and a few tumblr artist's buying new fangled musical instruments!) the episode in question brought up quite the interesting headcanon crashing topic of, who's Pinkie's new sister than was photoshopped into that photo from back when she got her cutiemark, never mind who took the photo in the first place!

Well, turns out she was indeed added for a reason. Pinkie's new sister, Maud, is appearing in this Saturday's episode and damn she's looking great. Sort of has an expression like she's just so completely done with everyone and everything. Also that blue coat thing, what's there not to like! I'm gonna assume her special talent is putting up with Pinkie's shit. According to the synopsis of this episode the rest of the mane 6 aren't going to get on with her! Maybe she eats ponies? We'll have to wait till Saturday to find out.

The World Wide Web turns 25

So this means Ponies pre-date the WWW, that's pretty funky to know. But then without the web our fandom would never have reached such levels. Sure they'd be fans but without this fantastic meeting place in cyberspace people's creativity would never have been free to be seen, for many they would have never been able to get the inspiration to start. Not only that but thanks to the web we've been able to meet so many other nutters who love the stuff we do, which is probably one of the greatest things ever. Heck, when I was in primary school I was in a class of about five guys and 26 girls, which might be cool in College but back when you're a kid it's a bit crappy for finding people who have the more geekier interests.

So, well done to the web for living this long, lets hope you keep on going for another 25 years yet!

Crystal Fair Annouces Daniel Ingram

So the Finnish Brony Con, that's been several years in the making and is happening just short of a couple of months have announced MLP's music wizz, Daniel Ingram. This is the first convention he's ever been to outside of the US, and as far as I aware he's quite the elusive one with Hasbro denying him from attending cons last year.

If you aren't already going to Crystal Fair, this surely this has to sway you to swim across the pond, battle the Frenchies and walk across Europe, because missing Daniel Ingram is simply not an option.

Check out their official press release after the break!

Rainbow Dash Joining the Wonderbolt Reserves, Finally!

A synopsis for an upcoming episode has revealed that Rainbow Dash will be taking a test. I wonder if she'll forget her pants? Well, this isn't a written test, or at least I wouldn't expect it is since if Dash passes she'll become a member of the Wonderbolts Reserves.

Honestly, I'm so pleased with this small announcement, even if the episode doesn't turn out all that well it's just the character development there in just one line of text, it's brilliant. I don't know why it has never occured to me before, the only way Rainbow Dash could be a Wonderbolt is by being on the reserve list! Since, she's damn good, we all know that, she's saved the Wonderbolts on many occasions and has time and time again showed them how capable of a flyer she is. Heck she's proved to be probably better than most of the current members. But she could never really become a Wonderbolt as it would take her away from Ponyville, ultimately taking her away from the show for the most part. So her being on the Reserves makes a ton of sense, she'll technically be a Wonderbolt (finally!) and she'll still be able to continue being the weather pony for Ponyville and going on all those crazy adventures with her friends.

Really can't wait for this episode now and I'm not even the biggest fan of Dash episodes. Also as a side thing, I love every time it is confirmed that the Wonderbolts are in fact a military organisation, rather than show flyers.

Dark Skyes: Yeah, It's Bogus.

As it's my duty as a journalist to a report on whats correct (such as the time aliens landed in Covent Garden) I am obliged to mentioned, though you should have known the get go, that the Pony Dating Sim game posted a few days ago happens to be a huge scam by a "comedy troupe" Million Dollar Entertainment. Good ol' /mlp/ decided to go on a rampage to properly expose the scam, and well they did just that. This has caused the Kickstarter to drop massively from 4200 dollars to around 1500 and is expected to drop further.
One of the guys behind this scam came forward with a damage control video, which though hilarious in many ways I won't link to on here as it contents less than savoury material, though it won't be hard to find it if you want a few laughs.

As it happens, the Game Devs, I mean Scam Artists are being shamed as massive failures in all sense of the word. Now, if someone would make a real dating sim with horses, that'd be pretty nifty right? Remember, they're meant to be like Professor Layton, I am pretty damn sure of it.

Bronies in Bob's Burgers.

If you're not familiar with Bob's Burgers, then I suggest checking it out. There's a ton of strange cartoons aimed at the teenage and young male audience but never quite make it to the same prime time spots as shows like South Park and Family Guy. Probably because these other shows tend to be a little rubbish in many respects, usually their animation isn't something to go crazy for. But they always have something about them that makes them quite enjoyable, I believe. Bob's Burgers is probably one of the better out of these sorts of series.

As it happens there is going to be an episode in the up-coming series that pays homage to our sub-culture. The episode is called  "The Equestranauts" which to me sounds like the name of Equestria's astronauts that landed on Luna's butt that one time. But yeah, I do hope it's a sci-fi in Bob's universe because that'd be a cool twist. Could get the Trekies and Bronies out in one episode.
